Winter in Jackson Hole is all about big adventure. Powder days, wildlife sightings, and crisp mountain air that makes everything feel a little more alive. But after a day on the slopes (or out exploring the valley), locals know there is one unbeatable way to reset: a hot springs soak.
What many visitors do not realize is that there are two hot springs located just outside the town of Jackson that you can visit in the wintertime. Whether you want an easy family-friendly soak or a full-on winter excursion just to reach the pool, these hot springs are one of our favorite ways to experience the Tetons in the colder months.
Astoria Hot Springs (20 Minutes from Jackson)
Astoria Hot Springs is only 20 minutes south of Jackson. Along the bank of the Snake River, six man-made soaking pools filled by natural thermal waters are easily accessible to the public thanks to the Astoria Park Conservancy. With the canyon rising around you and the river nearby, this is an easy winter outing that still feels scenic and special.
Enjoy spectacular views of the canyon and relax with the entire family. The facility has picnic areas, changing rooms, and showers, which makes it a convenient option for visitors who want a simple, warm soak without a full travel day.
